1 to One Garden Design is based in Surrey and offers landscape and garden design, alongside traditional gardening. Our aim is to inspire our client with innovative solutions. Frances and Robert have been working as a team to provide extremely skilled and careful design and construction services to clients in the Home Counties- for 15 years. Frances has a B. A. First Class Honours Degree in Design, and Robert has much experience in the industry through hard graft. We aim to create beautiful and sustainable garden spaces which offer you a place to relax, unwind, garden, or even work. Planting goes alongside paving or decking or whatever you decide you prefer, and our skill is to help you choose materials and styles which compliment your property and the surrounding area, whether it is a townhouse or rolling fields. Garden Design is about painting a 3D picture and really the picture is as much about you as it is about the designer. Careful plans will save wasted time and effort and of course- money so we like to think of your garden as an investment, as well as something to enjoy. The Process Initially a site visit is arranged to meet you and introduce you to our work. We will discuss your garden and assess the site. This is followed with a design brief and a fee quotation for at least the first stage of any design work. A full site survey would then be undertaken, depending on the size of garden, and a professional surveyor may be required for complex sites. A consultation fee would be charged for a visit to discuss specific ideas where the client may want only a planting idea or advice on landscaping materials. A fee is charged for initial site visits. A proposal for the garden is hand drawn and shows the new layout and is the basis for the final plans. Budgets for the whole process are considered as early on as possible to avoid planning over budget, and we are able to quote and build most sizes of garden except for over 2 acres which would entail involving outside contractors. We work alongside lighting, and irrigation specialists when appropriate to do so. Drawing details, and contract documents are supplied if required. Planting is a major part of any garden, and mood, functionality, and maintenance are all taken into consideration here. Ongoing advice and maintenance programmes help to achieve the future success of your garden space and ensure that it develops into the garden that you wish it to be.

Establishment: We have been working as design and build team for 18 years. Originally I was a gardener- working in private gardens and learning planting design before training and finally did a BA Hons in Garden Design at Kingdton University. As a qualified garden designer I have both the knowledge and experience to operate all aspects of the industry.
