The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation is the state tourism department, responsible for maintaining, promoting and developing the tourism sector Visakhapatnam, described as the City of Destiny, is becoming a destination of global tourism on the east coast of India. The un-tired continuous efforts of the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority transforming the port city in to a tourist paradise with rich eco-environs and must-see destinations. Apart from the spots promoted by the State tourism Department, VUDA has been developed a number of tourism projects on its own. Being the statutory Urban Development Authority, comprising a jurisdiction of 1721 Sq.Km in the districts of Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram, it is involving and initiating in the promotion of tourism to attract tourists from all over the globe.In fact the metro has all the trappings of well-developed tourist destinations like Singapore and the Government has time and determination to put Vizag on the international tourist map. Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority took a lead role in developing and promotion of tourist sites in and around the city. It is VUDA that held media conferences in other prominent metros like Delhi, Bangalore etc., and draw the attention of the people towards the tourist attractions in the City of Destiny.
