About Us

Cheshunt Swimming Club’s Learn to Swim programme produces a high standard of swimmers. Past pupils have progressed onto being national swimmers. Our Learn to Swim lessons have some of the lowest teacher pupil ratio's in the area with a maximum of 6 swimmers per lesson. With the shallow end lessons we aim to have 5 swimmers per lesson as we find this encourages good development and greater concentration. All of our lessons are run to the ASA National Teaching Plan for swimming and all swimmers are insured through ASA insurance. We provide a comfortable, safe and friendly environment for all our swimmers to learn in, whilst we communicate to the children how enjoyable swimming can be and make sure they understand the safety aspects of being in the water. All of Cheshunt Swimming Club's Learn to Swim teachers are Amateur Swimming Association(ASA) Qualified to a Level 2 standard and are CRB checked. With non-swimmers we also utilise our older swimmers from the squads and have helpers who assist the teachers in and out of the pool. We encourage the children to progress through the ASA Teaching Plan and to work their way through all levels with the ultimate aim of progressing through to our swim squads if they so choose. Cheshunt Swimming Club pride itself in producing a high quality Learn to Swim programme which will suit a budding Olympic swimmer or just a need to ensure your child will be safe in the water. Cheshunt Swimming club started its own learn to swim programme back in the early 1990s. This was to develop our own swimmers from an early age to enable the club to build a broad young squad base with children from the Learn to Swim scheme. It has meant that the club has achieved great success in the Hertfordshire Peanuts league and Junior Diddy league. All our lessons are very competitively priced All new starters at the Learn 2 Swim school are entitled to up to 5 WEEKS FREE swimming lessons on a welcome trial period. Swimming Lessons - Swimming Club.

Establishment: Cheshunt Swimming Club originated in the early 1900’s. However it, ceased to operate between the first and second World Wars. The club was reformed in 1967 and has grown to its current size.
