The property has remained largely undeveloped in a conscious effort by the family to maintain the uniqueness of the site. The Sanctuary, at Leather Waggon, has been a self-catering holiday destination since it was first established by the owners family in the 1950's. The current custodian is the Granddaughter of the founders and the business re-opened in 2011 following an upgrading of the facilities.
